Florida woman arrested for stealing casino winnings

Bossier City police have arrested a Florida woman for stealing thousands of dollars in casino winnings from a Texas man with whom she was acquainted.

40-year old Amy Odom was arrested Thursday morning on a charge of felony theft following a two month investigation. Odom is charged with stealing $70,000 from the victim in October after he won the money gambling at the Horseshoe Casino.

Odom had accompanied the victim on a visit to the casino on October 6 and took the money that night from the room they were sharing in the casino?s hotel and fled while the victim was asleep.

In the course of their investigation, police located Odom this morning at the Rodeway Inn in the 3000 block of Hilton Drive where she had been staying. Odom was taken into custody for questioning and subsequently booked into the Bossier City Jail.
