Cameron promises British security help for Sochi

MOSCOW (AP) -- British Prime Minister David Cameron says his country's special services will resume limited cooperation with Russia to boost security preparations for the Sochi Winter Olympics next year.

Britain had suspended security cooperation with Russia after the 2006 poisoning death in London of former Russian security agent Alexander Litvinenko. Russia refused to extradite the man Britain considered the main suspect in the case.

Cameron met Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday. Russian news agencies reported that the pair later went on a helicopter tour of the Olympic venues.
